Pick a hero, then line a winding path with six tower types and hold off 15+ waves that keep getting nastier. It's a full tower defense game drawn entirely in canvas, with all the sound made on the fly.
A proper, meaty tower defense game, Tower Siege is a nice change of pace from all the puzzles and runners already sitting on Romp. First you pick one of three heroes: a tanky knight, a long-range archer, or an area-blasting mage. Then you choose a difficulty, anywhere from Easy up to Nightmare, and start defending your base by lining the path with gunners, frost towers, snipers, cannons, lasers and barracks. The enemies won't let you settle into one strategy. Fast runners, armored tanks, fliers that float right over your ground blockers, healers, the odd boss, each kind forces you to rethink. You can upgrade and sell towers mid-fight, drop a Rain of Fire or call in reinforcements when a wave is about to break through, and a flawless run earns up to three stars. Everything's painted on a single canvas and every sound is synthesized in the browser, so it runs completely offline with nothing to download. Open-source game by sp-brj, used under the MIT license.
Tap PLAY, choose a hero, then a difficulty. From the bottom bar, select a tower and tap an open patch of ground (off the path) to build it there. Keep the enemies from reaching the end of the road and draining your lives. Beating enemies pays you money, so spend it on more towers or stronger ones, and clear every wave to win.
Desktop: left-click to place a tower or aim an ability, right-click to move your hero or open a tower's upgrade menu, keys 1-6 to pick a tower, Q/W for abilities, Space to start a wave, Esc to pause. Mobile: tap to place towers and use abilities; long-press the map to move your hero or open the upgrade menu.
